Tuesday:

Bible:  Easter:  Jesus is in the Upper Room.  Luke 22:14-21

Reading:  Hidden Treasures.  How to be Happy, A Little Piece of Wood
Read Aloud:  Shayla's library picks:  A Superguide to Dogs and The Reader's Digest Illustrated Book of Dogs

Language/phonics:  Lesson 98

Math:  Workbook pages 31-45

Spelling: Copied list 16.  Wkbk sections 1-4.  Activities on Spelling City.com.  Scored 100% on pre-test.  Done for the week!

Social Studies:  Countries and Cultures:  Read books about Central America.  Located on the globe.  Discussed which countries make up the region.  (geography)

Writing:  Psalm 91:15-16  He shall call upon me, and I will answer him:  I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.  With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Wednesday: 

Specials day!

Ballet and clogging lessons.

Thursday: 

Music:  Attended Morgan's band/choir concert

This is the first picture I have gotten of Morgan at a band concert.  Typically the music stands are positioned so you can not see her face. 
Friday:

Math:
Workbook pgs 46-52

Writing: Psalm 103:1-2  Bless the Lord, O my soul:  and all that is within me, bless his holy name.  Bless the Lord, O my soul:  and forget not all his benefits. 

And life continues to get in the way of school.  We have not one doctor appointment, but two this week.  Oh well, do what you can, right?

Monday: 
Bible:  Easter:  Jesus is Before Pilate and Herod.  Lude 23:1-5, 7, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 19, 25

Language/phonics:  Lesson 100

Math:  Workbook pgs 53-60.  Simple addition, cutting, gluing, color by numbers, following verbal directions (left, right, top, bottom, middle).  Finished this workbook!

Art:  Made condensed milk paint and painted a picture.  Discussed color mixing, consistency, recycling (art, science, math - measurements)

Writing:  Psalm 103:3-5  Who forgiveth all thine inequities, who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; who satisfieth thy mouth with good things so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Tuesday:

Bible:  Jesus is on the Cross.  Luke 23:32-46

Devotions:  The Bible and Math.  Matthew 18:21-22

Reading:  Hidden Treasures.  The Good Samaritan, The General and the Corporal.

Read Aloud:  Clifford's Big Story Treasury

Language/phonics:  Lesson 101

Math:  Learn on the Go Addition & Subtraction pgs 1-11

Activities/Problem Solving/Math:  Solved a large 32 piece farm puzzle.  Discussed shapes and using visual clues in problem solving, focusing in on details.

Science:  Watched a you tube video about how pencils are made based on Shayla's own interests.

Writing:  Isaiah 53:5  But he was wounded by our transgressions, he was bruised by our inequities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed.

Wednesday:
Specials day
Ballet/clogging dance lessons

Thursday:

Mom starts out the morning schooling, but has a doctor appointment.  Dad takes over the teaching. 

Shayla got a morale booster from 21 year-old cousin, Bryan.  He came in while she was doing her handwriting and commented that her handwriting was better than his!

Bible:  Easter:  Jesus Rises from the Dead.  Luke 24:1-9
Devotions:
  • The Bible and Science.  Psalm 8:3-8
  • The Bible and Social Studies.  John 3:16-19
Reading:  Hidden Treasures.  Washington and the Child, The Boyhood of Lincoln, Being a Hero

Read Aloud:  Veronica by Roger DuVoisin

Language/phonics:  Lessons 102-103
Science:  Starting seeds.  We discussed the difference between heirloom and hybrid seeds.  

Morgan came home when we were planting seeds, she dressed like a little leprechan for St. Patrick's Day.  She really gets into dress up holidays!

Phys Ed:  Shayla just couldn't get enough outside time with the warm weather.  She was shooting baskets in the moonlight!




Friday: 
We travel an hour to the big city and take dad to the doctor, then we stop at Whole Foods for a shopping experience.  (health, math)

Bible:  Easter:  Jesus Returns to Heaven.  Acts 1:8-11

Reading:  Hidden Treasures.  Abraham Lincoln and the Bible, Holy Bible, Book Divine, Thomas Jefferson

Language/phonics, Math:  Disney Princess laptop game
Phys Ed:  Since playing the hula-hoop game on the Wii fit, Shayla has learned to hula-hoop for real.  She is capable of hula-hooping with up to three hoops at a time.  Maybe she's training for a career in the circus!
