Wednesday:
Picked up right where we left off. Shayla retained most of what she was taught last spring. Woo-hoo! Nothing exciting, just trying to get back into the swing of things.
- Bible: Read the story of Joseph interpreting dreams.
- Phonics/Language: A Beka 1 lesson 34. Introduced sw and str sounds.
- Reading: A Beka 1 Tiptoes: Max and Tex
- Spelling: A Beka 1 Lesson 4: ck and ke words. Since spelling was a difficult subject last year, I wanted to spend more time on this. She completed the workbook page, copied the words 1x, wrote them outside with sidewalk chalk, and used ASL fingerspelling and orally spelled words.
- Break time. Outside playtime. Time for running, swinging, and jumping on the trampoline.
- Handwriting: Badge 7. Matthew 5: 1-16 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain:
- Math: Finished A Beka 1 Lesson 51 and completed lesson 52.
- Social Studies: A Beka 1 Chapter 2 - My Country's Freedoms
- Science: A Beka God's World - K - Chapter 1 - God's Plan for Me
- Break Time
- Read aloud: Junie B. Jones Boss of Lunch.
- Computer: Played several Jump Start games.
Thursday:
- Bible: Bible story Joseph Helps Pharoah. Devotions Psalms 5:11-12
- Phonics/Language: Lesson 35. Blends thr in three and ar in stars introduced.
- Reading: Tiptoes: My Cat, Todd and His Dogs, What Is It?
- Spelling: Lesson 4. Wkbk pt 2. Gave verbal examples of words in sentences and verbally spelled words
- Handwriting: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
- Math: Lesson 53
- Science: Abeka K Gods World - Chapter 2 - God's Plan for Weather
- Social Studies: Abeka 1 Chapter 3 - Symbols of My America
- Phys Ed: Trampoline, swinging, running
- Read aloud: Junie B First Grader, Boss of Lunch
- Scouts at Home/Science and Health: Healthy Habits. Learned about proper handwashing and germs.
Friday:
- Bible: Read Bible story Joseph Shows Kindness to His Brothers.
- Phonics/Language: Lesson 36
- Reading: Tiptoes: Ants in the Rain, What Is It?
- Handwriting: Verbally review Badge 7.
- Science: A Beka God's World K - Chapter 3 - God's Plan for Seasons
- Social Studies: A Beka 1 Chapter 4 - Great People of America
- Phys Ed: trampoline, swinging, running
- Scouts at Home/ Science and Health: Healthy Habits. Learned smoking is a bad habit.
- Read aloud: Junie B First Grader, Boss of Lunch
What a busy week! Sorry the posts are so boring! I am basically using this blog as a recordkeeping of Shayla's schoolwork for her new umbrella school. So much more paperwork involved, but so far, it has been worth it!
