Homeschool Highlights for April 5 - 11, 2009

Days 140 - 143

We did many letter m activities posted under our Bible lesson. (Which I hope to have posted later in the week, when we finish up the last few things!)

Math: Classifying and Sorting (Review). We sorted out colored blocks according to color and shape. We counted each group, then we made a crude bar graph on the white board and discussed which group had the most, least, and everything in between.

This was a fun hands-on way of learning classifying and sorting!

Language: Singular and plural verbs - adding s to end.

Spelling: Morgan helped Shayla type her spelling words. They actually enjoyed working together!

Writing: Badge 2. Completed Ephesians 2: 8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Science: Attended the local Wee Discover nature program at our local state park. It's for preschoolers, but there is still plenty of age appropriate things there for Shayla. The woman running it said there would be no problem with her attending as long as she didn't answer all the questions and try to take over the program. Not a chance!
Anyway, as always, she had a great time and brought home a rain book and some cool projects to finish at home.

Science: We read many books about trees.
