Homeschool Day 77 - Sunday, January 11, 2009

Scouts-at-Home: Colors and Shapes. (We haven't found the time to do Scouts-at-Home for awhile, so I thought it was time to get back to it.) The first project we did for this was to make sponge paintings. We did not make our own sponge stampers because I have 3 bags of sponge stamps for just such occasions! Lol! She really enjoyed making many pages of stamps.

We also made a mobile. We used cookie cutters as shapes. Shayla traced around the cookie cutters on foam, then cut them out. We decorated the shapes with buttons, sequins, and glitter glue. Then I punched holes in them and we tied them onto the hanger (made out of straws tied together).
Reading: We read a pile of library books aloud. Most of them were dealing with feelings and issues. I asked lots of questions to make sure she had an understanding of what was being taught.
