More Rite Aid and CVS Deals

Usually I only do the drugstore shopping one time a week, but I was out grocery shopping and just checked another Rite Aid for the Nivea.

Here's what I got:

4 Nivea Men's Body Wash - $1.99 each with $1 UP each
2 Rite Aid Scotch Tape - $2.99 and B1G1F
2 Ace Sports Tape - priced $3.99

Coupons Used:
2 $4/2 Nivea Body Wash printable
2 $4 off Ace products in-ad coupon (page 8)
1 $1 off Rite Aid 3 pk tape Video Values coupon
Used $1 UP reward from prior visit

Total oop:  $1.23

I got back $4 in UP rewards from the Nivea and
Submitted $3.00 SCR Rebate (#129 in August Rebate Directory)

I had to roll some ECB's that were going to expire, so I had to make a CVS trip.

1 U kotex $4.99 - Get $4.99 ECB
1 3 pk Dove soap $3 - Get $2 ECB
1 Picture book (have to make it in store) $7.99 - Get $7.99 ECB
1 Complete Contact solution (BOGO pack) - $7.99 - Get $7.99 ECB (this is not this week's deal, I bought it using a raincheck)

Coupons Used:

$1 Kotex U mc - from sample
Used $10.99 ECB

Spent $8.27 oop (I tried to use another $7.99 ECB, but couldn't because part of the total was tax.  If I would have been thinking, I would have threw in a candybar or pack of gum, but I was preoccupied.)

I got back $22.97 in ECB's.

CVS Trip - Jan 15, 2010

Sorry I didn't get this post up last week when the sale was on.  I'm always a day late and a dollar short!

CVS was one of four stores we went to this week.  I also hit Rite Aid and the 10 for $10 sales at Meijer and Kroger.  I was able to stock up and fill my car trunk, backseat, and floorboard for $160.  Unless the sales are exceptional, I will not venture out the rest of the month, except to get fresh produce.

2 - 4pk GE Reveal lightbulbs on sale 2/$6 - $2 ECB wyb 2

2 - pantene conditioners 2/6.97 - $2 ECB wyb 2

-$3/2 P&G coupon

1 - Oral B manual toothbrush 2.99 - $1 ECB
-75 cent P&G coupon

1 - Crest Outlast with Scope toothpaste - $3.49 - $1.00 ECB

1 - 20 roll Charmain toilet paper - $12.99 - $4.00 ECB (It was supposed to be Cottonelle, but the manager was substituting the Charmain instead)
-50 manufacturer coupon

Total $49.08.  UGH!  Who would actually pay this price!

After coupons and Extra Care Bucks, I walked out spending $1.64 - and earning an additional $10 in Extra Care Bucks.  Yay!

BTW, Cassandra asked where I get my drug store matchups.  Although I usually make up my own scenario, I like to browse several blogs including:

For the Mommas

Hip2Save

So how did everyone else do this week?  What sites do you use for coupon matchups?

CVS Trip - December 29, 2009

Sorry I have not posted about many deals lately.  Although, I don't do many food coupon shopping anymore, I still do the drug stores.

Time has been in great demand around here for months.  I can't promise I will post about these trips regularly, but I will when I can.

Here's what I got at CVS this week for 77 cents oop.

*Please don't hold me accountable on the actual amounts of the manufacturer coupons I used.  I can't find my list.  LOL!

That's right - 77 cents out of pocket.  And got back $12 in ECB's.  Woo-hoo!

1 Bounty Basic 6 roll (Yay, I was down to my last roll). $5.88 - .50 mc

1 Colgate Total 4 oz toothpaste $2.99 - $2 ECB - $1 mc

3 Dawn Dish soaps - 3 .25 mc

1 Gillette Fusion Razor $8.99 - $4 ECB - $3 mc?

1 Scope Outlast $3.49 - $1.00 ecb - $ mc ?

1 3 pack Ivory soap 99 cents - $1 mc (cashier will have to adjust down)

2 Johnson Buddies soaps - 2 CVS coupons $ ? (I received these in the mail)

1 Nivea Women's Body Wash (It was on sale last week - I had a raincheck) $5.99 - $5 ecb - $2 mc.

I think the trick to making CVS work for me, is to do it like a CD ladder.  You know roll a few bucks every week or two.  I was feeling burned out and only doing CVS shopping when they had exceptional deals or when my bucks were ready to expire.  Not a good idea.  Lately I have been having about $50 in ECB's on hand to play around with.  It sure helps a budget!

CVS Trip - July 6, 2009

This week's steals, I mean deals were amazing! I had some ECB's I had to roll, so here's what I got:

Transaction 1:

1 Gillette Venus Spa Breeze Razor $8.99 with $3 ecb - $2 mc
1 Colgate total toothpaste $3.49 with $1 ecb -$1 mc
2 Dawn dish soaps 2/$2 with $1 ecb on 2 - 2 /.50 mc
1 CVS pantiliners .89 - .89 ecb (like I really needed these, lol!)

Total after coupons and ecbs: 66 cents and got back $5 ecbs!

I hadn't planned on doing 2 transactions, but I asked for a raincheck for the pencils and tape that was on sale. The line was forming behind me and there was only one cashier, so I stepped to the back of the line, because she said she had the tape, she would have to get it.

Transaction 2:
3 rolls CVS scotch tape $1.49 each - $1.49 each ecbs

Total after ecbs: 52 cents and received $4.47 in ecbs!

So I got all this for $1.18 and got a total of $14.47 in ecbs. That's including $5 for an online survey and $1 for spring spending.

Do you have any deals to share?

CVS Trip - June 19, 2009

I haven't posted much about deals lately because I haven't been doing the coupon shopping like in the past few years. Call it using what we have, burn-out, or whatever. I haven't seen too many deals worth my time.

However...

I had $10 in ECB's that expired soon, so I HAD to make a trip to CVS. At first I didn't think there was much to be had, but I did ok.

I had to rethink my plan of attack because I scanned my card and got one of those elusive $10 off $50 purchase. It had an expiration of just a few days away and I knew I wouldn't make it back before then, so. . .

Here's what I got:

8 pack of Dial bar soap $3.99 - .35 mc get $1 ecb

Kotex products $3 each - 2 $1.00/1 mc - Buy 2 get $2 ecb

Johnson & Johnson lotion $3.99 - $2.00 mc

Schick Quattro Razor $7.99 - $4 mc - Get $3.00 ecb

Crest Pro Health toothpaste $2.99 - .75 mc - Get $2 ecb

Purex 3 in 1 laundry kit $6.99 - $2.00 mc - Get $2 ecb

After manufacturer coupons, $10 off $50, and $10 ecb's used $15.35 oop. And I got back $12 in ecb's.

CVS Trip - January 9, 2009

I apologize this is from last week, but I just haven't gotten my computer time management under control. It still seems like I don't have enough hours in the day, the only thing that is flexible is computer time. So sorry I can't be up-to-date on all my postings.

This was one of the weeks when my husband actually wondered if I had committed a crime or something. He is now truly on board with my CVSing addiction.

I was fortunate that all the items I was looking for was in stock. Yay! Here's how it went:

Transaction 1:

3 - 20 pks cottonelle toilet paper $12.97 -$4.00 ecb Limit 5
I used 3 - 50 cent off manufacturer coupons

3 - 12 pks mountain dew 3/$10 (There was not an ecb, but my hubby was going through dew withdrawls!)

Deal Buy $20 of select Johnson's products - Get $10 ecb (the pads and zyrtec were part of this)

2 - stayfree pads - 2/$9 - Used B1G1F coupon

2 - colgate toothpastes - $2.99 get $2.00 ecb
I used $1/1 coupon and .75/1 coupon

1 - garnier fructis hairspray - $2.99 get $2.00 ecb
I used $1 mc

1 - palmolive dish soap - .97
I used .25 mc

After manufacturer coupons and CVS Q's, and ECB's I paid oop: $2.66

Yes, that is not a typo! It helped that I had over $100 in ecb's. I made another $28 in ecb's.

The cashier and her manager was amazed. She asked if I had remembered to scan my card at the machine. Usually I do, but today I had forgotten. So, I scanned my card and a CVS Q printed off for $2 off cottonelle.

I picked up another 20 pk of toilet paper for a total of 4. Used $2 coupon and ecb's - paid $1.04 oop and earned another $4.00 ecb.

As a side note, we have about a year's worth of toilet paper at our house now.

So, how did you do this week?

CVS Black Friday Trip

I've gotten away from posting my bargains lately. But I'll try to do it again for awhile. Not to brag, but to encourage that you, too can bring down your food and toiletries budget.

This is what I got:

1 king size Twizzler $1.00 Get $1 ecb back

1 Clairol Hydrience hair color $8.49 -$2.00 off any haircolor CVS coupon

1 Aussie conditioner $2.99 - $1.00 manufacturer coupon Get $2.99 ecb back

1 Playtex tampon 18 ct. $3.99 - $1.00 manufacturer coupon Get $3.99 back

1 Johnson & Johnson Softlotion $5.69 Get back $5.69 ecb

1 Loreal juice lipgloss $6.99 Get $6.99 ecb back

1 Soft & dri deodorant 99 cents -50 cents manufacturer coupon

1 Sally Hansen Max Growth Nail Color $3.79 - $2.00 manufacturer coupon Get $3.79 ecb

1 Garnier cleanser $5.99 - $1.00 manufacturer coupon. Get $5.99 ecb back

1 Gatorade G2 $1.49. Get $1.49 ecb back

1 Covergirl smoothers liquid foundation $7.99 - $2.00 manufacturer coupon. Get $7.99 ecb back

1 Covergirl pressed powder $5.99 - $1.00 manufacturer coupon. Get $5.99 ecb back

My total was $55.39. I used a CVS $10 off $50 purchase coupon (I got this from scanning my card at the price checker machine in the store). *Always give your $$$ off coupons first, then give any manufacturer/cvs coupons next. Lastly give your ecbs. Then I gave my manufacturer/CVS coupons (my total went down to $37.61)Lastly, I paid with $15.99 in ecb's.

So, I paid $21.62 oop (out of pocket). I earned $49.90 in new ecb's to use next time. Could I have broken it into multiple transactions? I intended to do two, but some things I had to get rainchecks for. My total also had to reach $50 mark to use $10/50 coupon.

For additional help with CVSing, visit Money Saving Mom for her CVS 101, or Keeping the Kingdom First for the $5.00 CVS Scenarios, I heart CVS has scenarios and weekly and monthly scans before they are released to help you plan your shopping. Check out these sites and others on my sidebar.
BTW, I am siked about this week! It looks like there is not much, but I had to get rainchecks on four items last week. They were all free after ecb's. I have manufacturer coupons to match up with the rainchecks, so right off that's $10 CVS owes me. (You have to "buy" $10 worth of product, but there's alot of B1g1f items this week I can match with coupons to get alot of free stuff, without even dipping into my ecb's!)
Also, one of the items is the complete care contact solution. It was on sale for $8.99 last week - not in. I got a raincheck. So it would be free. Then I got a $2.00 printable coupon, so I'll make $2.00, now I see that it is a December monthly deal. . . So. . . I'll get 1 complete care for free + $2.00 profit, then it'll kick out an $8.99 ecb for the monthly deal. Awesome! They'll be paying me $10.99 to take contact solution (which I need, anyway)!!!!!

CVS Savings May 29, 2008

I think this was one of my most impressive weeks at CVS.

As you can see, I got 5-12 packs of my hubby's drink of choice, Mountain Dew. On Sale for Buy 4-12packs at $12, get 5th 12pk free.

Pictured are 2 bottles of SoBe Life flavored water. I originally had 6, but I had some thirsty campers before I took the photo. On sale for $1 each. There were printable BOGO coupons, so I got 3 free.

Lastly I have a Shick Intuition Razor that was on sale several weeks ago. I got a raincheck for it because they were out of stock. The raincheck was written for a price of $2.88, then I had a $4 mc, which means CVS gave me $ to take it from the shelves!

First I used a $3/15 CVS coupon, then BOGO coupons on 3 of the SoBe's, the $4 mc for the razor. Then I used ecb's.

All in all, I walked out paying .48 oop and got $3 ecb back from the SoBe's!

CVS Savings Week of May 18

Ok, I know I just got finished saying I wasn't going to do a CVS trip this week. At first glance, it didn't look like there was anything worth while, but after checking a few sites and a second look at the ad, here's what I came up with.

Deal: Buy 2 Banana Boat products, get $7 ecb

2 sunscreens (which we actually did need) 1 @ $8.69 & 1 @ $9.99 -$1.00 mc

My subtotal was over $50, so I was able to stack several CVS coupons, saving a total of $10. Paid $19 in ecb's and a total of $7.75 oop. And the best part is, I earned another $13 in ecb's.

*Note: I was looking at the bottom of my receipt today, I noticed it said:

Year to Date Savings $1390.13

Spring 2008 spending $134.42

That is a BIG difference. Yay! Even though I'm buying more, our budget has come down!

CVS Savings Week of May 11-17, 2008

Sorry I'm late posting this, but that seems to be the story of my life lately.

I know I don't do as well as some CVSers, but it works for our family. I've also found that the employees of CVS are much nicer when you don't split your purchases into several transactions. I do it occasionally, but honestly, I was in a hurry this week.

You'll also see a "splurge" of almost $5.00 for a toy. I know it's outrageous, but I relied on the help of my husband and youngest daughter this week because my hands are still covered with poison ivy.

Anyway, here's what I got:

Deal: Buy $20 of Oral B/Crest products Get $10 ecb

1 Oral-B Satin dental floss $2.50
3 Crest Pro Health toothpastes $11.97
2 Crest Pro Health mouthrinses $7.98

Total 22.45

-3.99 free product coupon
-1.25 wyb 1 crest toothpaste & mouth wash
-1.00 wyb crest pro health (I used 2 of these)

Deal: Buy $10 Hershey products get $5 ecb

1 Reese's cookie $2.00
1 bag of York peppermint patties $2.00
2 bags of cadbury milk chocolates $5.98 (husband already opened one bag)
1 hershey's special dark bars $.99

Total $10.97

-1.00 cvs coupon off cadbury (I used 2 of these)
-.55 off reese's cookies
-.75 off york candies

Deal: Buy $10 Softsoap or Irish Spring products get $4 ecb

1 softsoap refill $6.49
1 soft soap shower gel $3.99

Total $10.48

-.35 coupon
-.75 coupon

Then, Shayla bought a plastic baseball bat & ball for $4.99.

I had to throw in a filler item of chapstick @ $2.99 - $1 ecb to reach a total of over $50 before tax to use the $10 off $50 CVS coupon

Total purchase $64.16 after coupons and ecb's, I spent $19.37 oop, and got back $20 in ecb's to use next time! I saved $44.79.

Last week was a pretty decent week. I really don't see anything I think I'll go after this week. I'll probably start doing this every other week instead of every week since we have quite a stockpile. It's also a hectic time for us, or maybe it's just that I'm getting burnt out on doing the whole CVS thing for now?!?

Is anyone else suffering from burn out? Do you see any deals I missed this week?

CVS Savings Week of April 20-26, 2008

At first glance, I didn't think I would be doing CVS this week. I have built quite a stash of STUFF! However, throughout the week several blogs had some deals I missed, so it turned out to be an impressive week.

*Yes Michael, I have a tower of toilet paper, but it works for me!

Here's what I got:

3 - 12 mega roll scott toilet paper Regular price $9.99 each. I had a raincheck from last week so I got these for $5.99 each less $1 manu coupon for each.

1 - men's speed stick deodorant $3.99 -$1 mc get $3.99 ecb's

6 zone protein bars 1.59 each - less mc's $2ecb's on 3 - limit 5 deals

1 alavert on sale for $6.99 - this was an unadvertised ecb deal. Print off a $4.00 mc, making this 2.99 and get $4.00 back in ecb's

2 bags of hershey kisses were BOGO - CVS sent a coupon to my home via mail, so I had a $1.00 cvs coupon for this

6 tubes of colgate toothpaste - used a BOGO raincheck. Had manufacturer coupons 3/1.50 off

Grand total.....$14.18 oop (after coupons and ecb's) ECB's earned: $11.99

Sunday, April 20, 2008

CVS Savings Week of April 13-19, 2008

I had to go to the "unfriendly" CVS store this week because we had other errands to run in that town. I say "unfriendly" because some of the staff does not care for couponers much, and they are not shy about it.

This particular store was also out of many sale items, but, I got the things I most wanted and got rainchecks for the other items.

Here's what I got this week:

4 12 packs of Mountain Dew on sale 4/$12 with $3 ecb
I used 2 $2 manufacturer coupons to get these for $8

2 colgate toothpastes - BOGO (Buy 1 get 1 free) Priced at 2.19
-.75 manufacturer coupon

2 bags m&m's Dark Chocolate 14 oz bags (for my sweet husband)BOGO Priced at $3.29 with unadvertised ecb $3
-1.00 manufacturer coupon off 2 bags

Then I used $10 ecb and got these things for $2.02 oop (out of pocket). And earned $3 for the pepsi products and $3 from the M&M's = total of $6 ecb for next trip.

Just a side note, I was looking at my receipt at the bottom. My year to date savings is $1167.32 and my out of pocket spending is...drumroll please...$75.59!

It's a great system! Do you CVS? How does it work for you?

CVS Trip 4-11-08

Sorry I don't have any photos folks. I had to quickly put everything away because it was getting late in the day.

This was my purchases last week:

2 sunsilk leave in conditioners priced at $3.49 each
less 2 manufacturer coupons 1@-1.50 1@-2.00
3 sunsilk shampoos priced at $3.49
less manufacturer coupons 3@-1.50

The deal was buy $15 worth sunsilk and get $5 ecb's. Before coupons, my total
was $17.45, but using coupons I was able to get these for $9.45 and get $5 ecb to use on another purchase.

1 Febreeze noticible kit $6.99
1 Febreeze candle $6.99
1 can febreeze spray 2.50
Less manufacturer coupons: Buy 1 noticible get a can of spray free -2.50

The deal was spend $10 on febreeze products, get $5.00. I actually spent $13.98 and got $5.00 ecb

1 Gillette Fusion Phenom power razor $9.99
Less manufacturer coupon - 2.00
Buy 1 get $3.00 ecb

Spend $20 in covergirl cosmetics Get $10 ecb

2 covergirl tru blend foundations @ 6.99 each
Less manufacturer coupon: Buy 1 get 1 free -6.99

Covergirl lip color, buy 1 get $3 ecb

1 @ 7.49

*Here's where I made a mistake. I thought that this would be a double ecb offer. I thought it would apply also to the spend $20, but it didn't, so I came back in and bought another transaction.

I also purchased a 12 pk of mt dew for my loving husband, who is very supportive of my CVSing. LOL! $2.99

The total was $68.38
Less manufacturer coupons -22.49
Less CVS ECB's -43.96

Total paid out of pocket $3.02

I earned an additional $16.00 in ecb's and another $10.00 in ecb's for completing a CVS online survey. Total ecb's to use another time: $26.00

So, after getting to the car and checking the bottom of my receipt, I noticed that I did not get the $10 ecb for covergirl. So back in for transaction #2.

I purchased 1 covergirl tru blend powder at $6.99. Used a $5 ecb. Spent $2.12 oop and got back a $10 ecb.

So, in total I have $31 in ecb's to start out with the next trip! See how simple it is!

CVS Savings from Feb. 22, 08

I purchased:

1 Tresemme conditioner 3/$10 - $2 CVS coupon (We use a bulk amount of conditioner in our house!)

2 Sunsilk shampoo/conditioner products and got 2 Sunsilk stylers for free
Price for each was $4.49 - 2 $1 man. coupons & $1.50/2 CVS coupons. That makes it $1.37 per product. That's as cheap as Suave brand and a better product I believe.

1 Venus Embrace Razor $9.99 - $2 man. coupon - $2 CVS coupon. Makes it free after $6 ecb

total oop $13.91 (Now I had $15.00 ecb to use. I could have thrown a filler item like a candy bar in to make the total $15, but I wasn't thinking - in a hurry! I earned $6 in new ecb's from the razor.

You can "stack" the CVS store coupons with the manufacturer's coupons for a huge savings. Always check moneysavingmom.com for CVS coupons. They are usually released on Thursday afternoons!
